How to correct what is wrong with America

I.    We need to have faith in the plan of God

A.     Ephesians 3:20  Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, 21  Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

B. We must believe that HE is “able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think” A key element to our battle is Faith.  People will present all kinds of arguments that will support the idea that the battle cannot be won and that it is idealistic to believe by faith, but faith must prevail.

C. We must recognize his plan till the end of the age is not governments or social programs it is the church.

II. We must convince believers that what builds a church is LOVE, that Christ taught it would be our identify characteristic: John 13:35  By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

A.     Ephesians 4:16  From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

B. Ephesians 5:2 And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.

C. We must teach what Paul taught in the Scriptures he penned: Love excels in importance to spiritual gifts, preaching, faith, giving to the poor, and even martyrdom.  Love is the most essential things we have.

D.     We must walk in Love.

III.        We must believe that any person, regardless of race, ethnicity, social standing, or nation can be useful to the plan of Christ because of what Christ does in their life.

A.     2 Corinthians 5:17  Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

B. Colossians 3:11  Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.

C. Our thinking must go beyond social stereo-types and prejudices; we must have faith in the power of Christ.

IV.       We must follow the 3 point plan Christ has given to the church to win the world for him.

A.     Matthew 28:19  Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, ~ make disciples of people, EVANGELIZE.

B. baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: ~ teach new converts to yield themselves to Christ and become are part of his plan, the church.

C. 20  Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: ~ We must then disciple people in Biblical doctrine.

               1. Christ is our Saviour, but he is also our Head, Our Lord.    

                 2.     His commands, God’s Word, is our authority.
